On Thursday we made sugar cube pyramids. It was very hard work because they kept on falling down. They were falling down because Mrs. Netley made glue out of flour and water and the sugar cubes melted. All of the cubes were exactly the same size just like the Egyptians' cubes of stone. It took the Egyptians 80 years to build the pyramids and it took us one afternoon. It didn't go so well but it was really fun!
The sweetest pyramid ever!
When we were in class some of us made Scarab beetles. They are a type of beetle that the Egyptians put inside coffins to eat the inside of the mummies so that they can stay nice and moist. It was a little hard to make the beetles because the plasticine was rock solid. The Egyptians would seal jars with the Scarabs to protect really precious items. The only way to open them would be if someone broke the Scarab.
